Bundled and Bold

Cardigan: Grayers // Shirt: Similar, Barney’s // Jeans: ASOS // Shoes: Sandro

It’s been a seemingly mild winter. When I watch the weatherman show highs in the 80’s in my neck of the woods, I cringe. Something about wearing shorts in the middle of December just doesn’t seem right. Where is my knee buckling cold, the nip of a freeze on my ears and nose. There has been one aspect of the season that satisfies, a breezy winter wind. In the shade of a building shadow and under a large oak, I find my respite in the cooling draft that calls for a sweater and something warm.

My style has fluxed, it’s true, but one style I always can come home to is a layered look that takes notes from my grandpas ability to have the comfiest sweaters. I find no wrong in borrowing comfort chic tips from a man who had wisdom and strength. The cardigan above shows that comfort never looked so good. Denim-colored compact french terry is crafted into a refined shawl collar cardigan. It’s a comfy hug of cotton that shields from winter winds. I’ve paired it with a seasonal hot color navy in the form of a light flannel button up that compliments the shawl cardigan. Loving the detail work in the stitching and patterns that reflect the ebb and flow of my days.

Not giving way to my inner punk, a broken knee denim in a dark color paired with a slip on loafer completes a look that is flexible enough for sun and shadow during an unseasonal weather filled winter.
