The day is over, and boy has it been one. You’re straddling the line between heading home to spend the evening doing laundry, staring mindlessly at the television or even worse, working out. Suddenly you get a bright idea, why not find a cozy patio to enjoy the spring weather with a cocktail in hand and a bite to eat. You decide to follow your inner outlaw to the Four Seasons Dallas at Las Colinas. Good choice!
The new OUTLAW Taproom has just opened. Acozy outdoor patio is covered and has heated ceilings for cold weather days, as well as large fans for warm summer nights. You can snuggle up by a larger-than-life rustic fireplace and snack on signature bites, drinks and fireside s’mores from the bar menu. The patio also features a synthetic bocce ball court designed by Southwest Greens, and offers patrons an opportunity for a friendly or competitive game. How cool is that? I was recently invited in to see the space and taste the menu and I can tell you this is going to be a new nightly hotspot for sure.
Starters like skillet nachos loaded with chicken, black beans, bacon, sour cream and jalapeños are naughty nibbles that you won’t be able to get enough of. A chefs favorite, the venison corn dogs, come perfectly breaded with a spicy house bbq mustard. Looking for something lighter to start? The tequila shrimp cocktail is wonderful when paired with the wasabi avocado mousse and cocktail foam.
Of course no bar and patio would be complete without a drink. The Four Seasons Dallas mixology team came up with tons of delicious libations that range from classic cocktails to adventuresome multi-person punches and molecular mixologist gems. We sampled a few and found our favorites to be a “choose your own adventure” style Mr. Old Fashioned and a rustic citrusy yet-to-be-named cocktail served in a lightbulb. OUTLAW Taproom has bigger plates to dine on as well. A bountiful steak frites, Akaushi sirloin with truffle fries and sundried tomato chimichurri, hit the spot and could tame a cowboys appetite. There are a great selection of burgers and sandwiches on the menu, too.
See you on the patio, partner.
