I’ll be the first to fess up, my green thumb is sometimes not the best. Over the years I’ve done my fair share of planting and somehow it always turns out to be a struggle. Whether I picked the wrong plants or put my flowers in the wrong environment, it’s an ongoing issue. This spring however, I am aiming to see my blooms grow big and strong thanks to a little help from the experts. Calloway’s Nursery is a household name in Texas. With 18 stores and counting, the nursery chain has attracted not only loyal patrons, but also the finest cadre of nursery professionals in the state! In fact, Calloway’s employs more Texas Master Certified Nursery Professionals than any other retail organization. The chain has two new beautiful stores in Mansfield and North Fort Worth. I knew I was in good hands when I partnered with them on a special project to bring my backyard garden dreams to life.
With little to no vision, I ventured out to see my new friends Nathan and Matt from Calloway’s. Both of these gents are Texas Master Certified Nursery Professionals, the highest level of recognition awarded by the Texas Nursery and Landscape Association (TNLA). We explained just what we wanted and what our backyard looked like and they took it from there guiding us around the trees, shrubs, bedding plants, groundcovers, seed, bulbs, houseplants, pottery, tools fertilizers, soil supplements, pesticides, and other garden necessities. We settled on a few of their seasonal specials and began building out our plan.
Our cart was loaded up with plenty of spring foliage so headed back to our garden to get to work. Thanks to Nathan, Matt and all the other Calloway’s Nursery professionals, we now have a backyard we can be proud of. From Gardenias to Hibiscus, Hydrangeas to Daylillies it’s all so beautiful. They even helped us with the right kinds of soil to make sure that our new plants will get all the nutrition they need to survive the spring! Looks like my thumb just got a little greener thanks to Calloway’s.
